The British Occupational Hygiene Society is hosting the 7th International Conference on the Science of Exposure Assessment (X2012) in Edinburgh, Scotland on 2 – 5 July 2012.
The first in the series of “X” conferences was held in 1988 in Woods Hole, USA, followed by conferences in Leesburg, USA (1990); Lyon, France (1994); Gothenburg, Sweden (2001); Utrecht, The Netherlands (2004); and Boston, USA (2009). This conference series has been very influential in the development of the science of exposure assessment, in particular in the field of occupational exposure assessment.
X2012 will bring together the leading international experts and provide a platform for the exchange of knowledge and expertise in exposure assessment sciences. X2012 will contribute to the developments in state-of-the-art methodologies and practices in this field, and thereby improve our knowledge base to effectively control exposure to hazardous agents in the work environment, at home and elsewhere in the general environment.
The beautiful and historical city of Edinburgh offers a wide range of attractions including the Edinburgh Castle, Dynamic Earth, and Royal Yacht Britannia. It is also an ideal base from which to visit some of the many other attractions in Scotland. Edinburgh is a surprisingly green place and, even in the heart of the city, you are never far from wide open spaces where you can take in amazing views, or just relax and enjoy the great outdoors.
On behalf of the Local and Scientific Committees, we look forward to welcoming you to the historic city of Edinburgh to help us make this a stimulating and memorable conference.
